Job Summary:
The Airport Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing civil engineering projects related to airport infrastructure development and maintenance. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, design, and implement civil engineering projects specific to airport facilities, including runways, taxiways, aprons, terminals, and associated infrastructure.
2. Conduct comprehensive site investigations and surveys to assess project feasibility, identifying potential challenges and proposing effective solutions.
3. Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and construction plans in accordance with industry standards and local regulations.
4. Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure project deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints are met.
5. Prepare and review technical documents, including project proposals, engineering reports, and progress updates.
6. Conduct regular inspections and site visits to monitor construction activities, ensuring compliance with approved plans and specifications.
7. Analyze and resolve complex engineering problems that may arise during the project execution phase.
8. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout all project stages.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to airport engineering.
10. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards, promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
2. Professional Engineer (PE) license, or equivalent, is required.
